Jamie Tisch Attends 22nd Annual Preview Party

Recently, on October 21st, The Society of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center hosted its 22nd Annual Preview Party for the International Fine Art and Antique Dealers Show. In attendance were over 1000 guests and leaders from the art, design and fashion worlds.

They had the opportunity to mingle and dine among the beautiful arts and antiques and to raise over $660,000 to benefit The Society’s patient care, research, and education initiatives of Sloan-Kettering.

Guests included a long list of prestigious and note-worthy participants including Calvin Klein, Tory Burch, Jamie Tisch, Tom and Heather Leeds, Shoshanna Gruss, Peter and Jamee Gregory and many others. Pictured here is Jamie Tisch at the memorable event.

Supporting the WCRF by Supporting philosophy

Certainly, most of us would like to support worthy causes, but we don’t always know how to do so. One great way to support the Women’s Cancer Research Fund, co-founded by Kelly Chapman Meyer, Marion Laurie, Anne Douglas, Quinn Ezralow and Jamie Tisch, is to support their major donors.

One of their major donors is a skin and beauty company called philosophy. Their product lines include results-driven skin care, clean fragrances, bath and body lines and makeup. All of their products use cutting-edge internal research and development, manufacturing and distribution to provide customers with the best products available today. philosophy uses children’s pictures and only lowercase writing on purpose as a way to accentuate the simple pleasures in life.

About Susan G. Komen for the Cure

EIF’s Women’s Cancer Research Fund, started by Kelly Meyer, Anne Douglas, Quinn Ezralow, Marion Laurie and Jamie Tisch, collaborates at times with other cancer-fighting organizations. One such organization is the Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Nancy G. Brinker promised her sister, who was dying of cancer, that she would do everything in her power to end breast cancer. In 1982, she turned that promise into the Susan G. Komen for the Cure organization.

Today, this is the world’s largest breast cancer organization and the largest source of nonprofit funds that are dedicated to fighting breast cancer. The president and CEO of Susan G. Komen for the Cure, Hala Moddelmog said, “Susan G. Komen for the Cure collaborates with groups like the Entertainment Industry Foundation to support the EIF/WCRF Biomarker Discovery Project. We’ve invested hundreds of millions of dollars to find a cure. And we won’t stop until we find it. This is another important step.”

The 3^rd Annual Society of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center was held at The Pierre Hotel on May 18, 2010. Co-chairs of this night to remember included Shelley Carr, Tory Burch, Jamie Tisch, and Dee Dee Ricks. The sponsor this year was David Yurman and the honoree was Dr. Charles L. Sawyers, chair of MSKCC’s Human Oncology and Pathogenesis Program.

The Spring Ball raised money for a groundbreaking initiative focusing on human genomes.
